For years now I have dreamed of writing a book to express my views of an ideal government. I have spent time talking with people from all walks of life asking them 2 basic questions (see below). I believe that most Americans (and all people for that matter) want some very basic things from their lives and from their government. If we, as Americans, pay our government via taxes should we not receive services that enhance our quality of life?  Should we not have a direct voice into how our tax dollars are spent? 
Having the vantage point of living in New Orleans I am witnessing the lack of government interest in protecting and now re-building our region. I see how our government puts the interests of business in front of people. I see how incredibly un-organized and inconsistent our government (on all levels) has been in dealing with this disaster.

This book is my vision of a new type of government that is by and for the people.  A government that takes into account the quality of life of its citizens, the value of the environment and the wellbeing of the planet as a whole.
